The GAM Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today hosted the official presentation of Francisco Portillo as a new Real Oviedo signing. The Andalusian appeared alongside Managing Director Agustín Lleida and Director of Football Roberto Suárez, as he spoke for the first time as a Real Oviedo player.

He began by saying that "I am at an age where I wanted to be sure about my next step and when Real Oviedo appeared I didn't think twice. I am feeling good. I've been working all this time and I am available to the Gaffer. I was looking for a project with aspirations and ambition. I'm happy to be here. I am liking everything I see. Something very nice is being constructed."

Asked about his playing characteristics, the new signing explained that "I'm an attacking player, and I am here to help. I will try to give it everything, and will fight to contribute to the team. Santi played an important part, he was the one who started talking to me. It was all easy, there was willingness. I'm here thanks to Santi."

Following Portillo's words. Agustín Lleida and Roberto Suárez took to the microphones, analysing the current state of the squad. They explained that "since the season started we've been looking at the team's development and its needs. We were going to need a player of Portillo's style, and he is an experienced player in this division."

They concluded by stating that "nobody has told us that they want to leave. We will see whether from here to the window opening there are any players who aren't happy with their roles, but we have confidence that many of them will develop. We are alert to certain profiles of player that could fit in, but we are very happy with lads like Jaime (Vázquez) who have responded and been good for us."
