Real Oviedo goalkeeper Joan Femenías appeared before the Press ahead of today's training session at El Requexón.
With the team fully-immersed in another week of training, the goalkeeper from Mallorca said that the side is "more motivated than ever and hungry for the weekend to arrive." He admitted that "we need the three points and we are only focusing on Cartagena. We have to prepare for it in the best way possible, because when you don't win the atmosphere isn't as good. We have to keep going and work harder than ever."
Ahead of the Cartagena fixture, the shot stopper reasoned that "it is going to be a difficult match, but we have to show what we are playing for. We have to step up and get the three points. We have to improve in a lot of areas of our play, because we want better results. It's all about improving on the small details, since we need to win matches."
Asked about issues from set pieces, with the team having conceded several goals from corner kicks in recent games, Femenías argued that "that's the truth of the matter, we have been conceding goals from set plays. It's something we need to sort out, but there is nothing better than facing challenges. We have to go for it."
Finally, regarding competition for places with Brazao, Joan stated that "it's good and healthy. We have to help the team and improve on things, so that we can contribute to the squad."
