The Gaffer speaks to the media ahead of the play-off final against RCD Espanyol

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!
Real Oviedo Head Coach Luis Carrión spoke to the gathered media this morning at El Requexón.

When asked about Sunday's crucial match, the Gaffer was clear that "our goal is to try to be better than them. We have to treat it as if the first leg didn’t happen, I'm not looking at the result. We need to focus on this match. We mustn't wait and see what happens. We have to try to be better than them. I believe that in life, he who risks everything is the one who ends up triumphing."

Real Oviedo take a narrow lead into the first leg, and Carrión highlighted the manner in which it was achieved. "The important thing about not conceding is how we did it, by trying to find the opponent's goal."

Regarding the atmosphere in the city, the region, and the club, the Coach stated that "it's impossible to separate ourselves from everything, nor do I think it’s good to do so. We must be humble; it has taken a lot to get here, but we feel confident in what we can do. It's a different match, but this team has shown me its mental strength. I have no doubt we will go there as a strong team that will try to challenge the opponent and seek the victory. The only important thing is to try to be better than them."

He concluded with a wish: "Promotion would mean something very beautiful. I haven't been here long, but I know the emotion this would provoke. We will all enjoy it if we achieve it; hopefully, we can make many people happy."
