Real Oviedo Vetusta played their fourth Segunda RFEF match of the season against UP Langreo at the Estadio Nuevo Ganzábal this Sunday. The side has a number of injury absences currently, as well as several players with the first team, and Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Omar Falah, Pereke, Berlanga, Jaime V, Sesé, Yayo, Nacho Estrada, Diego Menéndez, Miguélez and Xavi Sola.
The B team had a clear game plan and were very aware of the match they were going into. The option of using three centre backs and wing backs had the desired effect, with the Asturians putting in a very professional performance. All of the threat came down the right wing, with Sesé and Diego Menéndez threatening with crosses, but unable to find their target.
Nacho Estrada was forced off through injury just before halftime, with Nico Pereira coming on in his place. Further injury problems for Jaime Álvarez, who had already seen Darío Hidalgo pick up a knock during the warm-up.
The second half was a very even affair. Osky came on for Omar Falah at left wing back, but Los Carbayones found it difficult to create as many dangerous opportunities as they had during the first half. UP Langreo looked to threaten Marco with long-range efforts, but the keeper was up to the challenge. With the match coming into its final stages Pereke saw a straight red card, and Vetusta were forced to play the final minutes with ten men. Nonetheless, and following the introduction of Lamine and Aimar Collante as substitutes, the side were able to hold on for a 0-0 draw and earn a point from a tough ground.
