With two days to go until the encounter with UD Almería, Real Oviedo Head Coach Javi Calleja appeared before the gathered members of the media in the Press Room at El Requexón. "I am very happy with the team's evolution. When we play we show a lot of security in what we are doing. We have to sharpen up on certain things, particularly up front, but we are trying to be more clinical in the attacking phases and score more goals."
Asked about Fede Viñas' arrival and how the first few days have been for him, Calleja stated that "he's joined up with us and is making his way in little by little. He is doing part of the training sessions, particularly at the start of each one, but the important thing is to get him back at 100%. We don't want to mark an exact timeframe, because it will depend on what we see on the pitch. We want him to be with the team as soon as possible."
Regarding Sunday's encounter with UD Almería, the Coach reasoned that "it will be a hugely demanding match. Almería have a great team, that have created chances in every match, and there are moments in matches where there high individual ability can make the difference. It's a match where we mustn't lose our concentration. If we do that then we will have problems."
"The main thing is the players. Different circumstances during the season mean that players get minutes. They have to make the most of it and then they may get to play more. The other day Pomares came on at halftime and was one of the best performers. His attitude within the changing room is exemplary. Every coach wants to have players like Pomares."
