The GAM Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today hosted Nacho Vidal's official presentation as a new Real Oviedo signing. The player appeared before the media alongside Managing Director Agustín Lleida and Director of Football Roberto Suárez, as he made his first comments since joining the club.
The right back began by stating that "I am very grateful for the opportunity. I am incredibly happy and it is a very ambitious project. This is a football city. I hope I can be here for many years. It's a very strong project...all you have to do is look at the project. The city also helped me to make my decision. There's a great fanbase, and I have felt wanted by Real Oviedo for a while. That is also something important."
Asked about his teammates, Nacho Vidal reasoned that "I can see a great squad, and there is a very good level. The intensity is very high and that gives you a lot. It (Yesterday) was a very tough match. Castellón are an unusual team and we aren't so used to it. It was a hard-fought match, and we weren't very fluent with the ball because they ask a lot of you, but everything seems better with the victory. Things can be corrected more calmly with three points, and I think that we have to keep going like this."
Director of Football Roberto Suárez concluded by saying that "we are open to moving forward with any operation that can improve us. Our thought is that, in a moment of stress, or due to injuries, we could feel uncomfortable, but it would have to be something that clearly improves what we already have. I think it's difficult, but we are alert. We are doing very well with what we have, unless there are any setbacks due to injuries."
