Real Oviedo Head Coach Javi Calleja appeared in the Press Room this Friday, ahead of the weekend's trip to face Albacete BP. Los Azules make the trip in the latest LaLiga Hypermotion fixture, as they go in search of back-to-back victories. The Coach began by stating that "We haven't won away for a while and we really want to do so. To take that next step and aim for the biggest prizes we also have to win away from home."
Calleja continued by adding that "up until now there's been a bit of everything. There have been moments where we haven't been ourselves and we have been punished. The Málaga match, meanwhile, for example, for me was one of the best of the season. We competed well against Levante and in other matches we haven't adapted. We have to look for consistency away in terms of play and results."
Regarding the possibility of playing with two forwards and a possible change to a 4-4-2, Javi Calleja admitted that "I see it as an alternative, but I believe that it could unbalance the team a bit, as well as our attempts to have control of the play and to take the initiative. With two forwards we lose the option to play between the lines. The important thing is to know what you have. As the season progresses you look to find the balance. You see that through the season. I'm liking the collective work, and that's what I try to change things as little as possible."
Finally, regarding Fede Viñas, the Real Oviedo Head Coach explained that "we have to be patient. He is coming off the back of a long injury. He is training well, but we have a lot of expectations in him as a forward. Everyone wants to play, but the focus is on the team. We mustn't just focus on one player. He won't be at 100% and we have to be patient. Little by little he will show us his best performances, and I have a lot of belief in him. With what I saw of him before the injury you can see that he is a match-winner in this division. He will help us."
