A season that will always be remembered. This is how the 2023/2024 season could be summed up in a few words in terms of Real Oviedo’s youth academy. The club closes a season in which the youth teams once again gave their best in their respective divisions, winning championships, and in the case of the Juvenil A team, giving us a Copa del Rey run that will go down in history.

If we start by talking about the older teams, we cannot leave out the magnificent cup run that the Under-19s had, in which they reached the semifinals of the Copa del Rey Juvenil that were played at the Carlos Tartiere. Granada, Cádiz, and Levante were the rivals that Paco Fernández's team faced before their match at the Carlos Tartiere stadium in Oviedo. Once there, the 3-1 defeat against RCD Espanyol did not tarnish the impeccable work of the Juvenil A team, who dreamed, enjoyed, and fought in front of their fans on a day and in a year that will always be remembered in the club.

As far as the regular season is concerned, and with many of these players forming part of Vetusta for the next year, the Under-19s finished in fourth place with 55 points, only behind Deportivo de La Coruña, Racing Santander, and Celta de Vigo. The Juvenil B team finished third in the standings with 64 points.

In the Under-16s league, our A team's fight for the title lasted until the end, but it was ultimately Real Sporting de Gijón who would win the league finishing just one point ahead of our team. The B team, on the other hand, had an outstanding season, winning their group and defeating Real Sporting de Gijón in the title decider with a 3-2 aggregate score.

In the children’s category, Infantil A came in second after a very tight season in which the title went to Atlético de Madrid. Fortune didn’t favor Infantil B either, who, in the cup finals, lost to CD Llanes by 0-3 in the second leg after winning the first leg 3-2.

We continue this review of the 2023/2024 season by talking about Alevín A, which, with 29 games won and only one tied, reached 88 points to take the league title. Alevín B was also the champion of its respective group in the regular league season, though it was not victorious in the final, where all the group winners faced each other.

To finish, and speaking of the youngest teams, Benjamín A was second with 82 points. Benjamín B finished in second as well, with only Atlético de Lugones A finishing with more points in Group 3 of the second Benjamín league. We finish this review of the season for Real Oviedo’s youth teams by talking about the Prebejamín A team, which had its share of victories and finished at the top of the table.
