Real Oviedo Head Coach Luis Carrión appeared in the Press Room this morning, ahead of Saturday's league clash with Real Sporting de Gijón. Los Azules go into the encounter with the hope of picking up all three points and providing all Oviedistas with some joy. "We have a responsibility to our fans. They came to Ferrol, to Santander, they push us on at home, and there are also a lot of people who've bought season tickets for the second half of the season. You can feel the excitement in the city. This is another factor which motivates us, because if we win then a lot of people are going to be very happy. We will try to hurt Sporting. That is what we are focused on."

"I expect there to be a lot of our fans excited from the moment we leave here until we arrive there. I hope that those who go out onto the pitch in blue do well, and that we can win the match and then celebrate it with our fans. Let's hope we can get three more points against a team that is above us."

Discussing the opponent, Luis Carrión explained that "they have a coach that works well. It is a competitive team, one that looks to play elaborately when it can. We have to put in a good performance and I think that we are capable of doing so."

Finally, moving away from the Asturian derby, the Real Oviedo coach was also asked about January signing Santiago Homenchenko, who joined up with training this week. "Homenchenko is a clever player, who has hunger and desire and has been working with Bielsa. I think he can give us control of the ball, he is good at bringing the ball out from the back, and works well defensively. At the moment I think he's looking very good."
